An IBDP Education That Inspires Excellence

The IBDP at Glendale focuses on academic depth and breadth, encouraging students to explore subjects ranging from languages and sciences to arts and mathematics. This holistic approach fosters interdisciplinary connections and equips students with the critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for success.

The IBDP Diploma is made up of two main parts: the Diploma Core and Six Subject Groups.

IBDP Diploma Core Elements
  • Theory of Knowledge – where students reflect on the nature of knowledge and on how we know what we claim to know.
  • Extended Essay – an independent, self-directed research paper.
  • Creativity, Activity & Service (CAS) – students complete a project related to those three concepts.
Six Subject Groups
  • Language/Literature – English A, Language and Literature HL & SL
  • Language Acquisition - French AB initio or French B HL & SL
  • Individuals and Societies - Business Management, Psychology, or Economics [HL & SL]
  • Sciences – Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or Computer Science HL & SL
  • Mathematics – Analytics & Approaches or Applications & Interpretation HL & SL
  • The Arts - Students select a second subject from the Sciences or Mathematics
