Your Role: Associate Editor
As an Associate Editor, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, profiling, and celebrating the journeys of Global Indians. You will write, edit, and curate compelling stories while ensuring content accuracy, creativity, and relevance. This is a unique opportunity to combine storytelling with impactful journalism that resonates globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation & Management:
- Identify and profile Global Indians and Indian companies making a difference in their respective fields.
- Conduct interviews with CXOs, thought leaders, and changemakers.
- Write, proofread, edit, and fact-check articles for accuracy, clarity, and impact.
- Build trending news snippets and engaging information nuggets about Global Indians.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate with freelancers and team members to commission stories regularly. Work closely with editorial and non-editorial staff to streamline content production.
- Social Media & Brand Building: Actively build the brand’s presence across social media channels. Utilize strong visual storytelling skills to engage audiences effectively.
- Editorial Vision & Leadership: Turn around newsworthy content on a daily basis with quick editorial decisions. Ensure all content aligns with the platform's mission to inspire and connect.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, or related fields.
- 12-14+ years of experience in journalism, with a strong editorial background.
- Experience in online journalism is preferred but not mandatory.
Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with astute news judgment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in creating engaging podcasts and vlogs.
- Tech-savvy and experienced in leveraging digital tools for storytelling.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Personal Attributes:
- Passionate about storytelling and uncovering inspiring journeys.
- Adaptable, resourceful, and self-motivated to deliver impactful content.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
